THE PROBLEM WITH DEMOCRACY!! *Learn and understand"

Democracy is something that we in Britain  have (and take for granted)and other countries in the middle east and Asia desperately want.
"A system of government by the whole population or all the eligible members of a state, typically through elected representative"

However there is a major flaw in this "democracy", I started to realise this as I saw the number of parties that you could potentially vote for. Labour, Conservatives, Liberal Democrat, Scottish National Party, Plaid Cymru, SDLP, Democratic Unionist Party, Ulster Unionist Party, Respect, Kidderminster Health Concern. As well as the above parties, the UK independence party and the Green Party sends MEP's to Brussels. SO MUCH CHOICE !!!!

This makes democracy very hard

To demonstrate my point I will simplify it:
4 people are up for election in London.
10 thousand people vote (just a representation)

person 1 =  4 thousand votes
person 2= 3 thousand votes
person  3= 1 thousand votes
person 4= 2 thousand votes

The Obvious winner is Person 1 because they got the most votes, right? WRONG! Person 1 may have gotten the most votes. However add the votes of the other parties, 6 thousand people are against the winner. They did not vote for them and so more people did not want Person 1 to win than the people who voted for him. WHAT?!?!? How is it a democracy if more of the population did not want this person in power!!

This is where, for me, democracy fails. This electoral system does not work if more than two people are involved! If i was to create the perfet system it would be very much like the world cup (football).
There would be round 1 and so on and every time the lowest scoring candidates would be eliminated. This would carry on until the top two would be found, then the winner would be determined! However this is just wishful thinking, no one has the time or money to run such a long process every time there was an election.

As always, Seemal
