GLOBAL WARMING!

Global warming!

I feel words like global warming, green house effect and climate change get thrown around far too much. Many people just assume that these words mean the same thing and don't read much further than the news titles, so before I get into my views let's make we all know what the news stories are talking about. Firstly, what is the green house effect?:The greenhouse effect is the natural process by which the atmosphere traps some of the Sun's energy, warming the Earth enough to support life, it is not the same as global warming. Global warming is the gradual increase in the temperature of the earth's atmosphere. 

Along with waiting for the release of the fifth IPCC report, I have been doing a bit of my own research and I have come to realize a few things. Firstly I think we are all dancing around the subject, we all say that we know about global warming and we all say that we care about the environment and animals. However we aren't willing to understand one simple fact; we all need to suffer in order to get this world back on track. We will play with fire and ignore the warning signs until we burn the house down, then we will learn our lesson, then we will change. It's very hard to understand that we as a race are extremely selfish, but as soon as we lift the veil with which we cover our eyes, nothing will be done.
